TRIO Programs are federal outreach and student services
programs designed to identify and provide services for individuals from disadvantaged
backgrounds. These programs are targeted to serve and
assist low-income individuals, first-generation college students, and
individuals with disabilities to progress through the academic pipeline from
middle school to post baccalaureate programs. The Higher Education Consortium of Metropolitan St.
Louis (HEC) offers the community the following three federally
funded TRIO Educational Opportunity Programs:
Educational Talent Search (ETS), Upward Bound (UB), and the Educational
Opportunity Centers (EOC). Through the
combined participant eligibility requirements and program service offerings of
the ETS, UB, and EOC programs, the whole family can be served.
